Our extra-curricular highlights
Year days
At the heart of our school community is the wellbeing of every student, and fostering strong bonds within each year group plays a vital role in this. Each year, we dedicate a special day for cohorts to come together, share experiences, and build lasting connections.
These excursions are more than just a break from the classroom—they are opportunities to develop teamwork, trust, and friendships that support your growth both academically and personally. By working and having fun together, we strengthen our sense of belonging and create a positive environment where everyone feels valued and supported.
After school study centre
Supported Study, Homework & Maths Tutorial Centre
On Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, we offer a fully supported study and homework centre in our library. This includes extra Maths tutorials designed to help students strengthen their understanding and improve their skills.
Any student is welcome to attend once a parent permission form has been submitted. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to complete homework, work on assignments, or prepare for exams in a supportive environment with access to help when needed.
School chess
Chess is a popular and engaging activity among our students at Narrandera High. At lunchtime, students have the opportunity to play chess in the library, developing their strategic thinking and problem-solving skills in a friendly, supportive environment. Our school proudly participates in regional chess tournaments, both hosting visiting schools and travelling to compete at other venues.
A highlight of our chess calendar is the annual Narrandera High Chess Tournament, organised by Mr Kroek. This much-anticipated event brings together students and staff in a spirited competition.
In 2025, the tournament was won by Mr Barendse, showcasing the high level of skill found in our school community.
All are welcome to join in and experience the many benefits that chess offers.
